The Chicago based airline, United Airlines has filed an application to the US Department of Transportation to start flights from San Francisco to Tokyo. If approval is given, United Airlines will be the first carrier to operate nonstop flights from San Francisco to Tokyo. The flights from San Francisco to Tokyo will be operated by United Airlines’ Boeing 777-200 in a three class configuration.
