Launched on 14th May 1997, Star Alliance is the globe’s first and largest alliance. Star Alliance is based in Germany, more precisely in Frankfurt. The logo of Star Alliance represents the five airlines that founded it, the five airlines being Air Canada, Lufthansa, Scandivian Airlines Systems, Thai Airways International and United Airlines. The alliance Star Alliance has 2 premium levels, Silver and Gold which obviously depends on a passenger tier status in one of the members of Star Alliance frequent flyer program. With the Star Alliance silver status, passengers will be given priority to check-in at the airport, priority to board the aircraft and an airport lounge access amongst others. The Star Alliance gold status offers more benefits to passengers.
