Korean Air Company of South Korea, announced its results for 1st Quarter 2011, which ended last March 31.

With the steady growth of international business passengers Korean Air, and the traffic to South Korea or in transit, the company posted an operating revenue of 2.719 billion KRW, an increase of 6, 3% compared to last year, and an operating profit of 145 billion KRW. Income before tax increased by 16.3% over the same period last year, reaching 258 billion KRW in the period concerned. Net income reached KRW 190 billion, up 13.9% due to currency gains. The activities of international passengers and cargo Korean Air are the largest contributors to revenues in Q1, representing respectively 53.7% and 31.4% of operating revenue.
