American Airlines traffic down in March 2009

American Airlines has experienced a decline in traffic for the month of March 2009. The global traffic in March 2009 was down by 10.9% and its overall capacity was around 5.6% compare to the same period last year. The overall traffic includes the international traffic and the domestic traffic which have both experienced a decrease of 11.6% and a decrease of 10.6% respectively compared to March 2008. In addition American Airlines is a founding member of the oneworld alliance and has carried 7.4 million of passengers for the month of March in the year 2009 with a filling ratio of 79.2%.
