American Airlines traffic down in April 2009

The major airline of the United States, American Airlines has experienced a decline in traffic for the month of April 2009. The overall traffic in April 2009 was down 4.7% and its overall capacity was around 6.1% compared to the same period, last year. American Airlines’ international Traffic in April 2009 was down by 2.1% and noticed a decrease of 2.5% in capacity compared to the same period, last year. The domestic traffic of American Airlines in April 2009 which was down by 6.1% and its capacity was about 8.2% compared to the same period, last year. For instance American Airlines is a founding member of the Oneworld alliance and transported 7.2 million passengers.
